Purple

This is my precisionism peice done from a picture I took at RHHS. It's a view of D and E buildings from underneath the awnings. I don't think this is quite complete yet, i'm considering going through and adding some extra textures to give it more interest, so far it's pretty bland despite my off color scheme. Ideas appreciated!

Guitar

Sooo, this is my cubism peice (although not very Cubistic). A still life was set up and I added in some objects and placed some differently mentally to get this compostition. Next I played around with adding some copper and different types of paper, then it also took a while to get my color scheme right. Like I said, it is not very cubistic but I am overall satisfied with the way the different materials I used pick up the light. ¿Coments?

Library

The assigment was to create a push-pull effect with details vs. pattern everywhere. I don't think I have much of that here, but once I add words on the face of the figure, I think the book and chair will stand out more. I used acrylic paints once again to paint EVERY SINGLE book in the background. I took a while, but I do like my color scheme so I am satisfied with the time I took. Ideas/comments are appreciated!

Solitude

I whipped this one up one night when I couldn't sleep. I just used a red-orange pastel stick on my giant sketchbook. Some of the proportioning is off but I had fun making this cause I don't use that medium too often.

Suitcase

So, this is my interpretation of the Closet drawing assignment. so far I've only played around with colors, but not much detail has been added yet. I plan to update this post when it is complete, ideas would be appreciated if you have any.

Sketchbook

This is my sketchbook cover. I got the idea to personalize it from Jackie (Thanks Jack!), who seems to like to use media on anything and everything. The large lyrics in black come from one of my favorite songs by Coldplay ("The Scientist") with other smaller lyrics in whte that have to deal with our world. hmm. Lemme know what you think I suppose!

Leftovers

This is a painting of what our family table would look like after dinner... if we ate at the table more often. I sketched the picture in pencil then used a type of pastel to get the vibrant colors. Tell me your thoughts on it! :]
